Yellow Wild Flower on the Silver Stump

Another photo from my walk up Elk Lake Pass. I found this gigantic tree stump that was cut down quite a few years ago so it's a lovely silver colour. Because it was cut and didn't fall naturally it had that nice flat surface which I thought would make a great platform for one of the many wild flowers spread around the area. Erego, the yellow wild flower on the silver stump!

Massive Range Sunset

Driving home from work today there was this wonderful shot that I just had to pull over for. It's actually right in front of the stables so I see it every day but it's gorgeous every time :P After a crazy, funky day of weather. Snow, rain, sun, you name it, we got it, this was a perfect ending. Featuring the northern end of the Massive Range and marvelous cloud coverage I love the backlighting.

Enjoy!

First Snow of 2009

So I'm finally back in town. Stoney's all closed down for the year and I'm back doing steak fry's. I'm also broken. Got bucked off a horse and broke my collar bone. Just about the end of the season though so all shall be well! I may even get my ass back into gear and update here more often. As a starting point, here's a photo of the first snow of summer 2009. Taken in late August, it shows Stoney Creek backed by the Palliser Range. Home sweet home!
